John David Bobbitt, 65, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away February 21, 2015 in Union Hospital. He was born October 2, 1949 in Cherry Point, North Carolina to Avery Bobbitt and Aletha (Legg) Bobbitt. John was a local business owner for many years. He owned Couch Potato Video and Bobbitt’s Sports Bar. He worked for CBS, Pillsbury, and AET. John was also a five time cancer survivor over the last 15 years of his life. John loved to travel and vacation at the Jersey Shore with old friends, new friends, and family. John was preceded in death by his parents; brother Jim Bobbitt; sister Sally Edrington; and nephew Paul Dickison. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Carla (Sereno) Bobbitt; sons John D. Bobbitt II, Nicholas J. Bobbitt, and his wife Heather; grandchildren Macen, Brilei, and Bristol; brother Sam Bobbitt and his wife Carol, Richard Smith and his wife Sandra; sisters Susan Dickison, and her husband Paul; sister-in-law Carolyn Bobbitt; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February28, 2015 at 1:00p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana 47804. Pastor Randy McPike will be officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00a.m. until service time.
