Frances A. Halberstadt. 91, of Terre Haute, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at
Kindred Transitional Care & Rehabilitation (Southwood). She was born in Terre Haute on Jan. 19, 1921 to
Loring C. & Lula (Harris) Halberstadt. Frances was a retired school teacher, taught at Coalmont
High School, Shields High School in Seymour, American Army High School in Germany and most
of her years at New Castle High School. She started teaching in 1941 and retired in 1980.
She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and many other organizations. She loved to Travel, enjoyed
Reading, Sports and playing cards. She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Ruth Jonas.
Survivors include her niece, Nancy Jonas of Ellettsville; nephew, Arthur Jonas & wife Beth of Cloverdale;
6 nephews and 2 great niece and nephew in Oregon. Private Services will take place at a later date.
